NIGHTINGALES WORK BEHIND THE SCENES TO MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE. The Nightingale Society is a volunteer group of women who make a difference in the lives of those in need. Through their network of service connections, members help meet the non-clinical needs of Home Health and Hospice patients, providing everything from legal contacts to housekeeping and gently-used linens. Requests are generated by the VNA California nursing staff, filled by Nightingales and distributed confidentially to patients.

The Nightingales help in fundraising and special events that increase awareness and community support especially for the Mourning Star and Camp Erin children’s bereavement programs. They also sponsor annual signature projects that include:

Fan Club – Over 450 fans are donated during the hot summer months directly to patients and through local Senior Centers.

Project Warmth (Stitches for Kids) – Coachella Valley quilters donate over 400 lap-size handmade quilts for VNA California Home Health and Hospice patients, and 70+ bunk-size quilts for children attending Camp Erin.
